Of course I don't know if all of this explains why you seem to not be getting better CPU cooling with the H80, or if your H80 is working correctly. What fan speed profile are you using on the H80? You can't do that with the H80, you only know the range of speeds it will operate at depending on the setting of it's fan controller. You know exactly how fast the H60's fan is running. That may have happened to you with your changes, which I would not call minor.Īnother detail is, with the H60's PWM fan, you can monitor what it's speed is, and adjust it with your board's PWM fan control profiles.

It's just that in my experience, what I thought were minor or insignificant changes to components in my PC cases have more than once caused surprising changes in air flow in the case, and temperature differences in the CPU, chipsets, etc. I'm not saying you did something wrong, if you mounted a H60 on a video card you obviously know what you are doing.

What else changed when you mounted two radiators in your PC? Any case fans removed or moved? Anything else moved to accommodate two radiators? HDDs moved, add-on cards, etc? What is the configuration of the H60's radiator now that it is on the video card? Where is it mounted and is it in intake or exhaust mode? Such as, where was the H60's radiator when it was on the CPU, and where is the H80 radiator now? Did you use the H60/CPU combination with one or two fans, and in intake or exhaust mode? Same question for the H80/CPU pair. Which means in this case, given the changes in your PC, the H60 on your video card and the H80 on the CPU, the result is not a small change in the configuration inside your PC's case. Well, i just wanted to see what people think about this and if there is something wrong, or is it just the way it is.Īs I always say, the devil is in the details. and i feel the corsair just opened up my wallet and took out the difference in price between the H60 and H80 because i could of gotten on more H60 and saved around 30 bucks and have the same performance. or is there something wrong with my H80? If it is correct I am very disappointed at corsair for selling to different products that perform the same but with different prices. can the H60 perform as well as the H80 when they both have dual fans and the same fans. and the temps only dropped to just 68 at load. tried the same fan as i used with the H60 but same results and even tried my delta 180 cfm fans.

To make sure i didn't install it wrong i removed the cooler and reinstalled tried it again, but same results. What is making me so disappointed it with the performance of the H80 installed it with the corsair fans and with the same therm compound as with the H60, but my temps are at par with the H60 at best the idle is at 30 and max load it is at 70.

so, i am still very happy with how well the H60 is doing.

So, I order an H80 and when it came in, i transferred the h60 to the video card, and it is working great on my video card not the temps are at idle are 30 and at load are around 45 or so. So, I thought i would put my H60 on my video card and pick up an H80 for my CPU just to make things a little cooler and quieter. I was very happy with it but i wasn't very happy with my cooler on my asus hd 6970 it cool ok but was so loud, i just couldn't deal with it and also the temps got up to around 80 or so i was not happy with it. the temps were at idle were around 23 and at max load with intel burn test were at 72.

Well, here is my situation, I have the H60 on a i7-2600k overclocked to 4600. First I would like to say if this is correct, I am very disappointed in corsair, and I feel that corsair robbed me of 30 dollars.
